MHS Class of '87 Reunion
Welcome to the Miami Senior High Class of 1987 Reunion Website! Although our 20-year reunion was in 2007, at least we were able to get this site up and running before the 30-year reunion hit! So enjoy!
The Class of '87 Twenty-Year Reunion took place on a fabulous Miami weather weekend from November 16 to 18, 2007. On Friday the 16th, we kicked things off right with a party at Bongos where the DJ made sure that we were in the house!
Around noon on Saturday the 17th, Class members participated in a tour of our alma mater, provided by Activities Director Barbie Quintero. We heard about the upcoming massive school renovations and saw great renderings of what the school will look like when the contruction is completed, restoring MHS to its old glory. Today that restoration is almost complete!
In the evening, Class members attended the Reunion Dinner at the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel in Coconut Grove. We started with a reception in the outdoor terrace. Members posed for a group class photo after the reception. Then we enjoyed dinner in the ballroom followed by a dance. The Reunion Committee presented a slide show and then Michelle Tano provided the night's show with her rendition of our class song, "For Just a Moment." Class members and their guests posed for photos on the ballroom's balcony. The night ended with just about everybody getting crazy on the dance floor.
On Sunday the 18th, Class members and their families were able to enjoy a sunny, beautiful day at our picnic in Crandon Park. It was a perfect opportunity to introduce the kids, big and small.
Thanks go to our high school photography teacher, Mr. Rodriguez, for his wonderful photography. And my deepest appreciation goes out to the Reunion Committee, without whom this memorable reunion weekend would not have been possible:
Rita Alvarez, Beatriz Anton, Judith Castro, Cibeles Chirino, Elsa Marina Cruz, Ivis Cuesta, Lily Fernandez, Juana Frias, Hiram Henriquez, Lourdes Lopez, Eleanor Naylor, Edward Orig, and Alicia Zamorano. And special thanks go to Rick Regueira with A Class Computer Consultants for hosting this website!
I hope you take advantage of this opportunity and download as many photos on here as you like. The whole idea was to save you the money. But unfortunately it took time!
It's been some time and classmate addresses have changed without my knowledge. So please spread the word to your classmates who may be interested
in these pictures and give them the website address: http://mhsclass87.com
There may be plans to have an informal get together somewhere in Miami for a twenty-fifth reunion. Stay tuned here for details!
If anyone is interested in having a 25th-year get together, please email me with suggestions at fjrivero@hotmail.com. Thanks!
Ciao,
Fernando Rivero
